About Emily McKenzie, LCDC
Emily McKenzie is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who began her career in October 2020 at a local treatment center serving individuals in the Concho Valley. Since then, she has dedicated her work to helping individuals struggling with substance use discover hope, healing, and long-term recovery. In September 2024, Emily was given the opportunity to serve as a virtual Intensive Outpatient Program counselor with The Springboard Center, where she continues to support clients while staying deeply aligned with the organization’s life-saving mission.
During her professional journey, Emily also worked with Village Therapy, where she provided individual counseling services and gained valuable mentorship that helped her grow into independent private practice. This experience strengthened her clinical skills, confidence, and passion for serving clients on a more personal level.
Emily’s commitment to recovery work is not only professional — it is deeply personal. In 2018, her husband struggled with alcohol use and found it difficult to maintain sobriety. With support and treatment, he achieved lasting recovery and is now seven years sober. That experience ignited Emily’s passion for helping individuals and families affected by addiction, and it continues to inspire her work every day.
She believes strongly in the principles of 12-step recovery while maintaining a client-centered approach. Emily meets clients exactly where they are, recognizing that each recovery journey is unique. She is committed to putting in as much effort as her clients do, walking alongside them with encouragement, honesty, and accountability, while empowering them to take ownership of their growth.
Emily is passionate about what she does and considers it a privilege to support individuals seeking freedom from addiction. Her goal is to help each client rediscover happiness, joy, and the sense of freedom that addiction may have taken from them.
“Recovery is possible, and you don’t have to walk the journey alone.”
